Giving Horses Hope in Maine

Amir- Arabian gelding

Amir is a 6-year old Arabian gelding who comes to us through partnership with the MSSPA. Amir spent the earlier years of his life as a largely unhandled stallion, and was part of a state seizure case this past summer. Fortunately, Amir ended up in the caring hands of the folks at the MSSPA, who gelded him, got him in better physical shape, and began initial training.

After getting to know this sweet gelding, we are impressed by Amir’s friendly personality and smart, curious attitude. Amir is very athletic, and has a great work ethic. He has done well with all we have asked of him so far including; groundwork, lunging, long-lining, ground-driving, wearing tack, obstacles, and has just recently been introduced to carrying a rider. This gelding is very smart and catches on to new concepts very quickly, and we are very pleased with how he is progressing.

We look forward to continuing with his education and seeing what the future holds for this adorable gelding. Please check back for more updates as Amir progresses!
