As the holidays approach and we reflect back on another busy year, we are filled with gratitude for the community who make this work possible. Each horse who joins our program has landed here due to the efforts of a vast network of caring individuals. From the tiniest terrified mini to elderly ‘war horses’ in need of a soft landing, every life is given equal value and an equal opportunity to find a loving home.
We are incredibly thankful for all those who so generously share their passion for helping horses: our farriers, equine dentists and chiropractors, saddle fitters, clinicians who educate and inspire, and our amazing vets who are always there to offer support and expertise. This community shares a common goal of helping each horse to feel their best, thus giving them the second chance they so deserve.
We value the partnerships formed with our fellow New England rescues, and are deeply grateful for the trust you place in us. Working together with so many talented, deeply committed and caring individuals is such a privilege. We look forward to continuing our joint efforts to place horses in loving homes.
As always, our heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone who has welcomed a rescue horse into their family. Adopters go to great lengths for their new horses, working hard to further educate themselves, to forge relationships, and to establish trust. This can be a lengthy and at times challenging process, and we are continually amazed by our adopters’ love and dedication. Nothing makes us happier then to see a previously neglected or abandoned horse now thriving, in a home where they are cherished for exactly who they are. Our adopters remind us to always have faith in the possibility for a horse’s life to improve in ways we could never imagine, and we thank you.
Finally, we are endlessly grateful to our best teachers, the horses. They are perfectly themselves, continually reminding us to stay present, to be clear, confident, friendly and fair and respectful. They are incredibly forgiving as we work to learn their language, and they demonstrate an amazing capacity to leave behind trauma and to trust what we offer them today. The horses help us learn and grow as people, and we are all better for our time spent in their company.
Wishing our beloved community a wonderful holiday season!
