Horse Rescue, Horses with Hope

Giving Horses Hope in Maine

Banker’s Vault

Banker’s Vault, “Banks” is a 5 year old Standardbred gelding who joins us for training from Futures for Standardbreds. Banks is a handsome boy who showed no interest in harness racing, but was fortunate to enter into the FFS program where he learned some basic groundwork and had tack and a rider introduced. During his several months with us thus far, we have continued to instill a solid foundation of work in hand, while mixing in rides at the walk and trot in our indoor and outdoor arenas. Banks has lovely, relaxed gaits and we could see him making someone a lovely riding prospect in future. He will canter on a line or in the roundpen and displays a lot of athletic ability.

UPDATE: In September of 2022, almost one year to the day after being rescued from a neglectful situation, Banks was adopted! He will be continuing his education down in southern Maine, and his new mom Laura plans to take her time and play with many different activities including liberty work, obstacles, games and tricks, and pleasure riding. We’re sure that Banks will thrive on the variety, and will love getting to know his new barn and family. Congratulations, and many happy trails to Banks and Laura!
