Better Reason N, aka ‘Bert,’ joins our program from our friends at Futures for Standardbreds. This 14 yo, 15 hh gelding was born in New Zealand but most recently retired from a lengthy racing career in Maine. Bert is a true war horse who is polite and easy to work around. He was introduced to lungeing and tack before joining us, and we look forward to continuing his education toward a second career under saddle. Stay tuned for further updates as we get to know this handsome boy!
UPDATE: In the fall of 2022, Bert was adopted! He and his new mom, Donna, will be continuing his new riding career with ring work and pleasure rides. During his time with us, Bert proved to be a true gentleman who took everything in stride, and particularly seemed to enjoy hitting the trail. We are always impressed by the kindness and versatility of the Standardbred breed, and Bert was no exception. Happy trails to Bert and Donna!
