Dory joins us for training through our new partnership with Bagaduce River Equine Rescue in Brooksville, Maine. You don’t get much cuter than a Hackney pony mare! Dory is every bit of sass and energy that you would expect from a Hackney and at about 20 years old she hasn’t slowed down at all. We are giving this little cutie time to settle in and adjust to her new surroundings, and will be sure to post training updates as they become available.
August 2024 update: Dory is now a happy, healthy pony who is much more comfortable in her own skin. Dory does not mind when her herd mates are taken to be worked, which is a valuable asset for a companion-only horse. She has since returned to Bagaduce River Equine Rescue to continue her search for her forever home!
UPDATE: Just in time for the holidays, we learned the happy news that Dory has been adopted! She will be keeping another mare company, and no doubt enjoying time with the several children in her new family. Dory loves children, and we are so thrilled that she has found such a wonderful home.
