“Good things come in small packages”
Spanish Mustang Gelding
Magic was barely 6 months old when he arrived at the farm. A bundle of curiosity with a mohawk, he quickly became a farm favorite. Although he was still nursing when he arrived, he was very brave and was often found checking things out at quite a distance from mom. We gradually weaned him from Winny so as not to place unnecessary stress on either party. It did not take long before he was happily fitting in with the farm’s herd of other geldings, which included Yuma and his full brother Echo.
Unlike Yuma and Echo however, Magic was greatly interested in humans. He had a seemingly unhindered trust in all of us and could not get close enough whenever we were around. He seemed like he was more interested in being around humans than he was the other horses. It even got to a point where no matter where he was in our expansive pastures he would come running if he saw one of us. Due to his friendly and trusting personality, Magic was always a pleasure to be around. He has an uncanny sense of humor and loves to play in the round pen with horses and people. His favorite toy is the giant smiley face ball, with which he plays a mean game of horse soccer.
Magic has excelled in our training program, and loves the trail and loves to go. He was cantering happily across the blueberry fields his first time out of the arena; nothing makes him happier than exploring new places and being with his people. Though small in stature, what he lacks in size he makes up for in heart.
UPDATE: Magic has been adopted! Magic went to his new home Saturday September 5, 2014. He has become a member of a 10 horse herd of Spanish mustangs at the Laszlo Family Farm in Massachusetts. The owners of the farm share a passion for this rare breed and are working to promote and preserve it. We are so proud that our “baby” will be acting as a spokehorse for this amazing and unique breed. We wish Magic and the Laszlo family the best of luck in all of their future endeavors.
