“Queen Bee” joins us for training from the MSSPA. She is a coming 3 yo, 14 hh Mustang mare. Bee was seized in an out-of-state neglect case and could not be safely handled when she arrived at the MSSPA in the spring of 2022. She initially required sedation so routine vet work could be completed, and she had to be chuted onto a trailer for the trip to the Society.
Under the guidance of the experienced MSSPA crew, Bee came around quickly and soon was easily handled, receiving regular vet and farrier care. She learned to ground drive, wear tack, and has even carried a rider around the ring at a walk. As she settles in here at Horses with Hope, we can already see that she is a sweet, friendly mare who enjoys people and attention. We are very excited to build upon the excellent foundation begun at the MSSPA, and will be sure to post training updates on Bee as they become available.
UPDATE: In the spring of 2023 after only a few months at HWH, Bee was adopted! This lovely mare stays in Maine with young rider Olivia, who will be bringing Bee along under the guidance of her trainer with an eye towards a future eventing career. We have no doubt that Bee will love being a part of the family, and will thrive on the variety and new adventures she will experience in her wonderful new home. Best of luck and many happy trails to Bee and Olivia, and congratulations!
