1994 Haflinger gelding
When we met Shane during a visit to the MSSPA in January 2019, we simply could not resist adding him to our winter training program. This hands down adorable gelding stands about 14.1 hh and is thought to be in his mid 20’s. You would never guess his age though when watching him kick up his heels in the paddock! He is sound and in great overall condition. Shane came to the MSSPA last year as part of a state seizure case, and initially was very anxious and distrustful of people. Thanks to the good work put in by the MSSPA crew, Shane has transformed into a friendly and curious little guy with tons of potential as a future adoption candidate. We look forward to carrying on with Shane’s training, and are very excited to see what the future may hold for this sweet gelding.
UPDATE: Shane was adopted in April 2019 by a lovely horsewoman right here in mid-coast Maine. Shane will be living out his days as a companion to a Welsh Cob gelding, and enjoying life as a treasured member of the family. We are so thrilled for Annette and Shane, and wish them many happy years together. Congratulations!
