Horse Rescue, Horses with Hope

Giving Horses Hope in Maine

Nesbit

Nesbit is the newest addition to our training program. He is a 6 year old, 14.2 hand quarter horse cross gelding who joins us from the MSSPA. During his several months there, Nesbit received basic handling and groundwork lessons. Thanks to the skilled crew at the MSSPA, he is now a healthy, friendly young horse ready to learn new skills.

Update: Nesbit has flourished in his training during the last several months. He easily accepted a rider and been worked at the walk and trot in our arenas. He has just recently begun hacking out with a buddy, along with cantering under saddle in the arena. Nesbit is a smart and confident boy who could go in many different directions and will continue to thrive with a knowledgable rider. We have really enjoyed the chance to work with such a nice young horse, and are excited to see what his future may hold! We will post more updates on Nesbit as they become available.

UPDATE: In June of 2022 Nesbit was adopted! He will be staying right here in mid-coast Maine, where he and his new mom will continue to build their partnership through ringwork, trails, and hopefully some jumping in future. We are thrilled for Nesbit and Meg, and wish them both many happy years together. Congratulations!
