Horse Rescue, Horses with Hope

Giving Horses Hope in Maine

Shamrock

Shamrock joins our program from our friends at the MSSPA. This 15 hh, 18 year old gelding was in a very neglected condition when he arrived in March 2022, but has since blossomed with good care and feeding. The crew at MSSPA were able to lightly evaluate him, and he easily progressed from ground driving to wearing tack and carrying a rider.  This older gentleman seems to know a thing or two, and thus far has taken everything in stride. He is an easy keeper who appears to be sound with good feet, and who gets along well with other horses. We look forward to continuing his evaluation and re-conditioning, and will be sure to post further updates as they become available.

UPDATE: Shamrock has been adopted! This sweet boy had a real soft spot for children, and was lucky enough to find his own loving family right here in midcoast Maine. Sham will spend his days being doted on and giving rides to his two little owners while mom Jessie supervises and provides guidance. We couldn’t be happier for Sham and are so thrilled for him and fantastic new home. Congratulations to all!
