Horses With Hope’s new Rescue Ambassador team kicked off the start of the show season May 10 with back-to-back blue ribbons in the dressage ring at Hidden Brook Farm’s dressage show. Hopie and Raven, traveling to their first-ever show for Horses With Hope, each won their classes with excellent scores for their initial time out.
Hopie and Raven were chosen to campaign this summer as ambassadors for the HWH rescue horses because of their unique stories, willingness to please, and correct work under saddle. As ambassadors, they will travel throughout the summer to various local shows to illustrate the versatility and usefulness of rescue horses. It is our hope that through continued outreach and exceptional work, horses like Hopie and Raven can influence other horse owners to consider a rescue first, and directly influence the number of unwanted horses in America each year.
Despite the stresses of traveling and an unfamiliar show arena, both Hopie and Raven were calm and relaxed at the show grounds. Unruffled by the multiple exhibitors, pets, spectators and children running around the show area, both mares remained focused and were able to show to their best advantage.
Congratulations to both mares and their stellar riders!
