Shetland Mare
Flicka is an aged Shetland mare who has been there, done that. She is not a rescue, and was purchased as a young horse for the owner’s family’s children to ride. In her time, she has carried many little ones, and later learned to drive a small cart. She has a clear sense of her own importance in the world, and she is generally calm on the ground. She does suffer from Cushing’s Syndrome, which is managed through medications. Flicka has been a great pony for many years and has put smiles on many different children’s faces. We feel that she has “earned her keep” and deserves to live out the rest of her years in retirement here at the farm.
