Moon Shadow joins us for further evaluation and training from the Dorset Equine Rescue. He is a 10 year old, 15.2 hh Morgan/Friesian cross gelding. He was green broke to ride before coming to the rescue in fall of 2025, and hasn’t had any continued training since then. Moon Shadow has nice basic ground manners and has settled in easily here with another gelding.
This handsome boy has ‘lordosis’ (is very sway-backed) which makes tack and rider fit a bit complicated. He may be able to carry a very small rider in future, but may also make a nice driving horse. We will be evaluating Moon Shadow to see whether this is something that can be helped with further strengthening and exercise, and eventually to see what type of home would be the best fit for him.
