As this challenging year draws to a close, we are struck with a deep sense of gratitude. We’ve been lucky to spend our days caring for horses, and to find comfort in the ritual of chores and continued training. Throughout the hardship and heartbreak that 2020 has brought to so many, we have also been lucky enough to see the absolute best in people through our rescue partnerships and through adopters, as they come to meet our horses.

Most equines that pass through our program have some ‘baggage’ from previous life experiences, whether it be emotional or physical, or both. We do our best to smooth over these spots and to give the horse a solid foundation. However, most of our horses aren’t the right fit for just anyone, and really need a specific type of rider or home to succeed.

Time and time again, we find ourselves wondering how we will find the right match. Without fail, someone comes forward with just the right skillset, farm set up, and riding goals that a particular horse needs to thrive. We are continually amazed by the high level of horsemanship and commitment that we see in potential adopters. People are incredibly generous, loving, and dedicated to giving their rescue horse the best life possible. This year we’ve adopted out 11 horses and minis, and it’s been inspiring to meet folks from all over New England who share the same passion for giving their rescue horse a loving, lifelong home.

We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for continually showing us the best of humanity. In a year filled with so much sadness, it’s been a joy to see the commitment and expertise of our fellow rescue partners, who work hard every day to alleviate suffering and to give every horse a second chance at a better life. It’s been a joy to feel the encouragement of our friends and supporters, who help to spread the word and allow us to find the best homes for our horses. And to our adopters, who inspire us with their love and devotion to each and every rescue horse that passes through our doors, we thank you. May the next year be one of peace and happiness for all.
