Asher joins us for training from our friends at The Dorset Equine Rescue in Vermont. He is a 5 year old, 12.2 hh branded Mustang gelding who was lightly started under saddle in August 2023. He is very green but is a fast learner and he’s having a blast while learning new things. Although we haven’t ridden Asher here due to his small size, he’s done everything else including obstacles, groundwork, round pen liberty work, long lining, ponying, and has worn tack. Asher is good for vet and farrier, and gets along wonderfully with other horses. We are actively promoting him for adoption, where the ideal candidate would be a petite experienced rider who can further his education under saddle. UPDATE: Asher has been adopted! He will be staying right here in Maine to continue his education with new mom Teagan and her family. Their plans include trails, liberty, bareback and (eventually) bridle less riding, and plenty of time just hanging out and having fun together. We are so thrilled for Asher and wish everyone many happy years together. Congratulations!
