Daffodil is a 15-year-old miniature mare joining us for training from the MSSPA in August 2025. She is a friendly, been-there done-that mare who was shown in-hand in her previous home. We will be working to refine her groundwork skills, introduce her to a saddle and driving tack, and maybe teach her a few tricks while we help Daffodil search for her forever home! We are looking forward to helping this sweet girl blossom!
October 2025 update: Daffodil has been coming right along! She came to us well-versed in basic handling, so we have been working on some of the more refined aspects of responsible leading and lunging, as well as other life skills such as ground-tying. Daffodil tends to be busy-minded, and being away from her friends can bring that out more. However, with a confident handler that believes in her ability to remain focused and mindful, she is very well-behaved.
November 2025 update: Daffodil has been adopted! In a heartwarming twist of fate, she went back home with the family who had originally owned her. As sometimes happens, this family had rehomed her in good faith but she was then sold along without their knowledge. They were overjoyed to see her pop back up under the MSSPA’s ownership several years later, and now little Daffodil will live out her days at their farm. We are positive that she remembered her former family, and are beyond thrilled for everyone. Congratulations!
