Odin joins us for training through our partnership with The Dorset Equine Rescue in Vermont. He was barely 2 years old and unhandled when DER saved him from a direct ship kill pen in December 2022. Odin is a spunky and well behaved gelding now who is good for the vet and farrier. He has started basic ground work and is very social and curious about everything. He will start his training under saddle in 2024 when he turns three, and will then be available for adoption to someone with training experience. He currently stands at 14.2 hands and is still growing. We are very excited to continue Odin’s education over the winter months, and will be sure to post updates as they become available.
UPDATE: Odin has been adopted! This friendly, smart little guy will be staying right here in Maine as a future husband horse who will get to do a little bit of everything. While here for training Odin excelled at ground work, and took all we presented right in stride including wearing tack and walking around with a rider. He is a lovely young horse with a bright future ahead of him, and we are so happy to have been a part of the journey. Happy trails with your new family, Odin!
