Robin is a mini mare, approximately 17 years old, with us for training from Gerda’s Equine Rescue. Robin arrived to us in early March 2023, about 9 months after being rescued from a killpen in Texas. At purchase, she had an unweaned 2.5 year old colt named Sparrow, who was also rescued by Gerda’s. Sparrow was weaned and remained at Gerda’s, and Robin was sent to us for further training.
Robin presented as tense and fearful of human interaction– particularly touch– upon her arrival at Horses with Hope. We have been working slowly to build her trust, which is allowing us to help her with a lot of her muscle tension via bodywork. Under all of that tension, she seems to be as smart and sweet as they come!
UPDATE: Just in time for Christmas, Robin was adopted! This sweet mini travelled down to MA, where she will serve as a companion to a lovely gelding who was very much in need of a friend. We are thrilled for Robin and wish her and new mom Theresa many happy years together.
