Update: Taffy is now available for adoption through All The King’s Horses Equine Rescue in Northford, CT. They fell in love and asked if they could take Taffy back and find him a home in Connecticut. In November 2015, this little cutie was fostered to a wonderful family. Taffy spent his days with Horses with Hope Alumni, Austin and certainly received lots of love and attention. They were then able to adopt Oreo. Although Taffy did enjoy life as a companion, it is time for a new chapter in his life. We were able to bring Taffy back to the farm for the next phase of his career. We are now introducing him to long-lining and eventually, driving.
In the meantime, Taffy enjoys playing with his friends, both large and small. Because he is rather intelligent, he would best be suited with a family who can continue his training and challenge him with interaction and activity. We also feel that his forever home should only have children over 12 years old.
Taffy arrived in June of 2015 from the New Holland Auction, along with Murphy, Koda and Toby. This little cutie was so young that we didn’t even realize he was a stallion until our vet looked him over. We are always glad to be able to take in stallions like Taffy before they begin breeding. He was then recently gelded and recovered well. This boy showed signs of malnutrition and was quite skinny (and very eager for food) upon his arrival at the farm. He is well behaved for the vet and farrier, and enjoyed his recuperation time with his pal Murphy.
Taffy is 9.2 hh or 38″, which is usually the cut off point for a mini horse.. We are now looking to find this personable little guy his forever home, and we are confident that he will make a wonderful addition to his future family.
