Tales joins us for continued training from the MSSPA, where she has been since January of 2023. She was used as a broodmare until 2013 when she was purchased by her previous owner. Tales has an in-your-pocket personality and loves to be doted on. MSSPA notes that her perfect home would be someone looking for a solid trail partner, ‘husband horse,’ or steady teacher for children. She can display some ‘herd bound’ tendencies when separated from her friends, so may not be able to hit the trails alone. Tales does have Cushings, which is easily managed with a daily dose of Prascend.
Upon her move to Hope, we observed Tales extra attachment to pasture mates as she settled into her new surroundings. As she gets to know her way around, Tales is beginning to relax and display less herd-bound behavior. We will post further updates as they become available.
UPDATE: Tales has been adopted! Tricia originally met Tales during a Chris Lombard clinic at the MSSPA, and had been following Tales’ journey ever since. Tales will join a small farm of five other equines lovingly cared for by Tricia and her husband, out in beautiful western Maine. Tales will enjoy leisurely pleasure rides in the company of horsey friends, and we’re so happy for this amazing new chapter in her life. Happy trails, and thank you to Tricia for opening your home and heart to a rescue horse.
